Hackney Rock Concert

Well, were you dahn in ‘Ackney for the Motorhead gig? I don’t know if I was, as Hackney has far too many distractions for a man of my moral weaknesses.

I still fondly recall the day I walked into a pub to find an attractive young blonde girl disrobing with great abandonment to the strains of ‘She’s Got Balls’ by AC/DC. She didn’t. The name of the pub? The Spreadeagle! Life doesn’t get much better than that.

And then there were the many (many) evenings spent in Browns, leaning against the stage, with a ready supply of pound coins for the pint glass, and an always handy coke dealer. Ah, those were the days. So, even if I had made to Hackney on the same day as Motorhead, Saxon, Angelwitch, Spider, Sleek, T34 and the Lightning Raiders, the chances of me getting to the show would have been slim in the extreme.

However, here are no less than three versions of ‘Ace Of Spades’ for your listening pleasure.

MP3 one – Ace Of Spades
MP3 two – Ace Of Spades 2
MP3 three – Ace Of Spades 3

If you want more details you can try and guess from the tags.

Never made it to Hackney either..but I did see Angel Witch somewhere in England although I can’t for the life of me remember where it was. Now then the show I would’ve liked to have been at was July 1980 Stafford Bingley Hall for the Metal Mayhem Party; featuring Motörhead, Saxon, Girlschool, Angel Witch, Vardis and more I think…what a day out that would’ve been. Incredible and to think I was slaving on a peatland farm at the time…

Oh and let’s hear more about the Blonde gyrating to ‘She’s Got Balls’ then…

Like you, I don’t think I’m allowed in Hackney without a babysitter. I’d probably die.

Jimmy – didn’t make the Stafford show, but I was at the Port Vale Heavy Metal Holocaust. The blonde was one of the best strippers I have ever seen. Pert was invented especially for her, and her favourite band to strip to was AC/DC. Heaven, absolute heaven. I put £2 in her glass.

GW – due to my age, I restrict myself to visiting every couple of years, just to make sure everythings OK. As of 2008, all was well with the world.

I was at Port Vale too!

Man that blonde you speak of sounds like straight out of my things to ‘do’ before I die, nothing like the idea of leaving the mortal coil with a grin on your face!

I wouldn’t bother trying to track her down as that was about 15 years back. I’m sure she’ll be on to her 4th kid by now,

PS – none of them are mine, in case the CSA is surfing by.

Incidentally I was in a bar once back in the late eighties when an elderly woman was stripping off while Danish fishermen threw her cash, the inebriated ‘past the sell by date’ woman was lapping (no pun intended) up the attention as she proceeded to shed her clothes in a unsteady and unprofessional manner. It was car crash entertainment, you didn’t know whether to look down into the depths of your pint or glare at her dried prune like features gyrating like it was 1999. Despite my immaturity I recall thinkng might this be what a granny looks like under her semit?
    I still have nightmares…

Jimmy – that bar with the elderly stripper and the Danish Fishermen wasn’t in Wick was it? Peterhead?

    Thumper!
I say! You must have frequented the same bars as myself. It was indeed from the days of the Danish fleet of light blue fishing boats landing at North Sea ports from Wick to the Blue Toon.
    It’s a small world

My brother recommends a Taxi-firm up the Mile-End Road that has a shebeen upstairs offering similar entertainments. I’ve yet to take him up on it.

Gilbert – do you mean Danish fishermen throwing fivers or dirty grannys?
Or the much more palatable, Blondes with a liking of AC/DC?
    ;)

Dirty grannies I think. His wife won’t let him go to London anymore…
